We are delighted to announce that, after the usual legal formalities, the Bishop of Colchester will be appointing the Reverend John Parker as our next incumbent, joined us on the 15 March 2012.
John is 41 and married to Miriam whom he met at Oxford where John read Biology and Miriam read mathematics. They spent their early years teaching, after which John took theological training at Cornhill and Oak Hill College. For the past six years John has been minister in charge of a church plant in Wokingham called the Church at the White House School, an off-shoot of St Bartholomew's Arborfield and St James' Barkham, near Reading. John and Miriam have a family of three young daughters, Zoe, Abigail and Lizzy.
The PCC's concern throughout our interregnum has been to appoint a man dedicated to maintaining our tradition at All Saints of teaching the Bible, and this is precisely what the Lord in his goodness and providence has sent us.
So our waiting is over and our prayers have been wonderfully answered for which we offer thanks and praise. In the psalmist's words, "This is the Lord's doing - it is marvellous in our eyes" (Psalm 118:23).
John Bradley and Michael Bewes, Church Wardens.
