Fordham Church

Groups

At Fordham we run a variety of small (and some not-so-small) groups. You will find more information about our bigger groups under the green tabs at the top. However we do also run a few other groups:

Moore Course

The ‘Moore’ Course is a well established distance learning course from Moore College in Australia, renowned for its ability to help students engage with the Bible, theology and Church history. Over 20 people at Fordham have done one or more modules, and we are currently running two groups. Each year we study one unit, meeting up fortnightly to discuss the course chapter and go through the exercises. Its a great way of digging deeper in a non-threatening environment.

Anyone who wants to develop their understanding of the Bible and God's truth can enrol on the course. There are no prior educational requirements, although the course assumes roughly an 'A'-level standard.

If you'd like to find out more, contact Andy Saville or Quinlan Terry. More details can be found on the Open Bible Institute website.

Breakfasts

Each month there is a men's and women's breakfast – men meeting on the first Saturday of the month, women on the third, 8-9 am in the John Owen Barn. (Breakfasts will be listed on the events page). The main aim is to get to know other members of the church in a relaxed setting. There is usually a short talk or discussion led by a member of the church, and sometimes we invite a guest speaker. You don't have to be invited – just come along!

For more details of the Men's breakfast – please contact Andy Saville, Tim Rakow or Richard Bartholomew.
Women's breakfasts – please contact the church office or Elspeth Saville (Colchester 242112)

Colchester Soup Run

Together with many other churches in the area we take part in the Colchester soup run, one evening a month. The aim is to provide those who are homeless or lonely with some nourishment every day. We make and take sandwiches with us and serve these in the town centre together with soup, biscuits, cakes and hot drinks.

If you'd like to find out more, please contact the church office or Caroline Sheldrick.
