1) Jesus, God's king, has the power to help

I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever 2 Sam 7:13

The nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession Ps 2:8

Anointed to preach good news to the poor ... to bind up the broken hearted ... to proclaim freedom to the captives ... to comfort all who mourn Isaiah 61.1ff

2) The sons of Abraham are our spiritual seniors

3) Jesus, God's king, will be merciful to the unworthy
