Fordham Church

With all the comings & goings of the summer holidays it is easy to lose touch with the church family. So this year, every Sunday from 30 July to 3 September, we shall be making the JOB and the adjacent field opposite available for anyone who is at a loss end to spend time getting to know each other over a picnic (please bring your own). Noone is expected to come to all or any of the picnics, but we hope that you might have time to come along once or twice during the summer. This will be a very informal time for EVERYONE in the church family and for you to bring others who may be on the edges of church life and need to get to know us a bit better (the picnics will be advertised at the Holiday Bible Club). Impromptu games of football or rounders may evolve and garden games will also be available. So, bring a picnic, a blanket or a chair and get to know someone better! For further information speak to Rachel Gage.

July to September 2017 Inclusive

As you may know, the Diocese and PCC have approved me taking three months away from the parish for rest, reflection and study. Whilst I am away, it is normal practice that there are no extra meetings organised without the permission of the wardens.  During my time away, John Bradley will be a point of contact for the months of July and August, and Ray McGuinness for the month of September. Paul Southern and Harry Boreham will be available for pastoral matters and all the preaching and leading is covered. My wife Miriam and our family will also be taking a break from the parish so that they can have some rest and recuperation. We will be attending church as a family elsewhere and Mim and the girls will not be involved in serving as they usually do in creche, music, PA, HBC etc. Thank you for all your support in this.

Wednesday 11 & 18 October, 1,8,15,22, & 29 November 2017

This is a course for those who have never really understood what Christianity is all about or
want to go over the basics again as a foundation. Any question that comes to mind is
always welcome. There is no expectation that we read out loud, pray or sing (or indeed do
anything embarrassing). Rather the course presents the teaching and life of Jesus from
Mark’s gospel via DVD, we read Mark’s gospel over the 7 weeks and ask any question we
would like from that or indeed any aspect of the Christian faith.

In John's absence (01.07.17 - 30.09.17), please contact Janette Miller for more details -
